Problem adding code table entries during import

I'm having trouble adding a second table entry to my attribute code tables during import. This was working on a different database. The exception reason is: Invalid field value: Unable to add table entry <foo> Code table entries can be added manually. Am I missing something? A workaround would be to bulk add the code table entries before import. Can anyone advise me on a safe way of doing this? Kevin Kiely Trinity College Dublin

Have you been able to add the code table entry manually? I realize you want to do it through the import, but I'm curious to know if it fails there too. Also, are you adding more than one attribute to a constituent with the same attribute category and a different description or are you adding one attribute to a constituent and some constituents are receiving new attribute descriptions? I am able to add the code table entry manually. I am trying (but failing) to add an attribute to a constituent with the same category and a different description. I have tried deleting the attributes in question and recreating them and the tables from scratch but the problem still occurs. I am now investigating using VBA to populate the code tables. Kevin

You probably already checked this but has that attribute been restricted to allow only 1 per record? Melissa S. Graves Manager, Development Database & Direct Mail Planned Parenthood of Connecticut [Email Removed] 203-752-2804 *** Sorry my typing is not what it should be!

Hi Melissa, That wasn't the problem. It turned out that I had created the attribute tables manually as donor category tables. As these tables require a unique amount per entry, I was only able to add one new description when importing. I solved the problem by globally deleting the offending attributes and recreating them. This time I created the attribute tables as I created the attriutes (by scrolling beyond the end of the attribute table list until prompted for a new table name) Kevin
