In House Reference Guide for Development Team

We currently have a procedures manual for data entry staff to follow. But I have been requested to develop a key of definition for development staff. This will be a quick reference for development staff with definitions about constituency codes, attributes etc. It will also help them to understanding the reason why certain information is kept in areas of the RE. I want to keep this as simple yet as informative as possible. If I make it too difficult nobody will use it. Does anyone currently have something like this that they are will to share with me so that I have a template to start from. I would appreciate this very much

We dont have a document as such, but what we have in place is quite valuable. We have created an Access ADP file which which has a front end. The front end allows us DBA's to log new codes. As well as this we can record who requested it, when, description etc. I guess this is more of a management tool...

Please please let's not go through a long series of Me Toos in response to this. There are some manuals available on the BB website that users have shared and if anyone else has one would you please send it to Blackbaud to include on the website. To be honest there are so many different ways to approach a manual I have found no one has shared a template close to what I wanted so I am still working on mine. If it is ever finished i wuold be happy to share it but everything is so specific to the way we use RE It probably is not relevant to everyone. My suggestion - look to the website for shared document samples and then just dedicate some time and resources to creating a manual specific to your site. Melissa S. Looks like we are going to get a chorus of "me too"'s anyway... I'm putting together a P&P for us. What seems to work best is taking the material directly from the RE manuals and throwing in screen shots using your own organizations data as an example. (I use my record as the example; around here I've given almost as many fictious $ as good 'ole Dr. Bob Hernadez) Lisa Gatzen Fernbank Museum of Natural History 767 Clifton Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30307 [Email Removed]
