I created a case of the following and would like to know if any other schools had the same issue .... Upgraded FAWEB to 1.02.54 and AORO last Thursday. I've posted earlier that faculty do not see any classes listed (My Schedule -- no classes assigned) appears and am hoping for a solution on that. I am in on Sunday to check how all is working internally and when Supervisor or user logins, the error message is invalid user or password!! The connections are all working as I can login to Blackbaud Configuration etc. I can change passwords, but yet, the new passwords don't work either. Call Network Manager and we brainstorm what the issue could be and finally think that perhaps we need to restamp the FAWEB database with the license ... we do that and now users can login. This did not resolve the issues with no classes being scheduled. HOW VERY IRRITATING THAT THE FAWEB IS DOWN DURING A CRITICAL GRADING TIME AND NOT ONE WORD WHEN DOING THE UPGRADE THAT THE SCHOOL WOULD NEED TO RESTAMP FAWEB. The only reason we did the upgrade so close to the grading time (grades are due on Tuesday) is that I received a personal email that the caluclations if using total points, could result in the wrong calculations -- that is huge. OK, we had to do the upgrade .. but I can't imagine we are the only school that experienced either of the above problems. Why can't Blackbaud be proactive in sending another email to all schools and explain these problems might or will happen. Even if you don't have a solution, knowing it is an issue is important.

Marilyn, just curious to know what version of FAWEB were you on prior to upgrading? We're on 1.02/47 and I thought THAT was the latest one.....no one has mentioned a problem with caluculations though we're having a multitude of other difficulties and extreme slowness. Barbara, We were running 1.02.47 before the upgrade and current version running is 1.02.54. We received an email on 10/21/03 from Blackbaud that iif gradebooks were using total points and not categories calculations could be incorrect and that upgrading would take care of this issue. Grades were due the following week and we needed to do the upgrade. I have no idea how that impacted the grades for interims. We are experiencing extreme slowness as well and Blackbaud has accessed remotely and doesn't see an issue. However, there is an issue and a challenge to sell faculty on using an online gradebook when it can be up to 5-7 min in loading classes. Are you experiencing the slowness at school, remotely or both? We have the extra challenge of being on 3 different campuses (14 miles between) and working over WAN. If you want to discuss, I can be reached at 952-988-3408.
