    Payroll Deductions

Out of interest, how do various institutions manage entering in and receipting payroll deductions to annual appeals?

Is it done via pledges? Do you receipt each gift?

    many thanks in advance

We set up a pledge per year for staff. The pledge is equal to 12 monthly payments that our staff has signed off. We code the record Consolidated Receipts in Bio2/Receipt Type. This way the staff gets one receipt from the Foundations instead of 12. The gift is receipted at the end of the calendar year. Rose Benavidez

We thank them for their pledge. I set up a recurring gift batch for all personnel payroll deductions that has the amount of the scheduled plg payment and do not acknowledge and do not receipt as defaults. I post the batch once per month(combining two pay periods). When their pledge is paid off - on the last posting I change the batch to acknowledge and receipt the gift and change the receipt amount to the total amount of the gift. But all this is more trouble than it's worth. Since our staff generally does not leave in the middle of a school year I'm tempted to enter the pledge and post it one time as paid at the end of the year when business office tells me that the last payment has been made.
