    key/baseline reports

What reports did you designate as key reports/queries/statistics for the conversion from RE6 to RE7? Donna Marie Foos Data Base Administrator American Red Cross of Southeastern Virginia 611 West Brambleton Avenue Norfolk, Virginia 23510 757.446.7382 [Email Removed]

Appropriately enough I happened to be working on report testing just as I read your message :) Below is the stuff I have gleaned from a few people and digging in the conversion guides from Blackbaud.

    ---------

    •Gift Detail and Summary Report
oRun for previous month and also by constituency code (Board Members, Alum, etc.)
    oRun for 5 random years
    •Constituents Giving History
orun for at least two individuals and two organizations
    •Pledge Status Report
    oRun for 5 random years
    •Top Donors report
    •Donor category Report
    •Parent/Alumni Report
    •Constituent Directories
ofor a few constituents - just to verify the address info is the same
•any of the Campaigns, Funds and Appeals report
•run a gift summary report by fund and by gift type to see if the totals match

I printed a summary page of every Query and Export from RE6. I also printed the summary page and one page from every Crystal Report that I wrote. I have these stored in my desk and still refer to these more than a year after we upgraded to RE 7 last March. We had RE 6 up for my viewing only for about 1 week after the upgrade. All the other users were strictly on RE 7 only. Don Sabo Forum Health Youngstown, Ohio 330-884-4814 [Email Removed]

We plan on having RE6 up in read-only mode for as long as two months. Basically as long as we need it before we need to stop referring to the old ways. We have the luxury of server space, so I'll keep it as long as I can. I'm glad to see someone else thought of that. I'm surprised BB doesn't mention it as a strategy. Gift Summary by Fund - when we ran this in 6 it DID NOT match the totals in 7. We created a case for it with tech support; sent our 6 db to Blackbaud and found a flaw in the 6 db. Blackbaud corrected our problem by sending a patch for us to download. So doing our initial comparison early on (during our test conversion months ago) was a blessing in disguise because we realized that gifts were being dropped and not being counted.

Other reports we ran and compared:
    Gift Summary by Constituency
    Gift Summary by Campaign
    Gift Summary by Appeal
    Gift Summary for each board

We also did a comparison on the system statistics between 6 and 7.This is found in DBA-File-System Statistics in 6 and Admin-System Statistics in 7.

    Tallies we ran and compared:
    Constituency Codes

Attributes specific to our TLU Database:
    Constituent Attributes - Activity Codes
    Constituent Attributes - Service Codes
    Constituent Attributes - President's Associates
Constituent Attributes - Special Mailing types - no mail, Lost, do not solicit etc.

We also printed out security profiles for each user and user option setting for each user so we can set them up for each user prior to going live. We have decided on some "default" settings to be used campus wide so that all of our users see Soft Credits the same way, that the color schemes are all the same for continuity across users.

We also re-created and documented 3 of our most used custom crystal reports and did a test run on them in 7 to make sure they were running right compared to 6. The 3 custom crystal were:Campaign - 5 year summary, phonathon call forms and year-to-date this year compared to last year. We know that they are in working order so the re-creation of the reports in the live conversion will be smooth sailing and we can come up with these three critical reports in place and "ready to go" Elaine Tucker [Email Removed] Texas Lutheran University
