We use the Action tab a lot to track down our major gifts donors/prospects. In the Note Type, we have a code MG Ask used to code all our major gift solicitations. We use the Attributes tab in the Notes to track dowm how much money we are asking, who is the staff working with this prospect, the department they are interested to fund or donate to and the date the proposal was sent. It also contains the date when we received the money. Email me directly if you want more info. Rose Benavidez Database Coordinator Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation of Toronto [Email Removed]

We use a limited number of Action Note Types. Just two- Summary and Strategy. One reason is that Action Note Types can get buried in reporting. The other reason is that the other note types mentioned are information that is captured in the Prospect Tab. Our general philosophy is to use Notes to capture information that has no other place in Raiser's Edge to be captured. Hope that makes sense. Contact me if you need clarification. I am setting up codes to use action type and status to track reasons for visits and outcomes. This will allow me to do end of the year and post-campaign analysis of what we did, when we did it and the results to look for patterns and see what worked and what didn't. You could do the same with note categories and descriptions or use those to add subcategories to the coding used in type and status on the General tab. The codes you use really depend on the level of detail you need to do moves management analysis (and on how much patience your development officers have in choosing the code to enter so your data is reliable and valid). We too want to use the notes and attributes on the action tab to track the outcomes of visits, phone calls, etc w/ prospects (that information is in the notes tab now). The problem is, we are having trouble getting those notes to appear on canned Constituent Profile Reports. Does anyone know a way to do that? Kerri Opalka Germantown Academy

On the Tab "Profile Content" make sure you select "Action" and "Detailed Listing". In Action Detailed reports, you can have both the attribute and note show up if you go to the Format tab/ Details Genevieve Zevort Information Systems MUHC Foundation [Email Removed]

    Re: Action notes

Has anyone experienced difficulty printing more than one note entry for a particular Meeting action?  We put our Contact report under the note tab of the action, but if there is a second entry under the note tab, neither one of them appear on the Canned Constituent Profile report?
