Does anyone have the ability to report FE balances via a website? We are a Community Foundation with over 600 individual funds and our donors would love to be able to see their fund balance at any time. We do have the projects module. Blackbaud does not see this happening soon. Any ideas?

If you have any in-house IS staff that can work with web scripting languages such as ASP, PHP, PERL, etc., you could export the data to an Access database each day and have the script read and display the information from the database. We do a similar kind of thing here for G/L accounts and budgets.

Very timely topic for us. We would like to provide our investigators with web-accessible account data. Paul, how do you set security paramaters for each account? If so, is this something IS would do in creating the Access database?

We limit user access through a separate Access database. This database has a table which has columns for username and Department Number (one of our account segments). The PHP script checks the username agains this database and then only displays the accounts for the departments the user has access to. I can provide more in-depth detail here if there is interest.
