    Patriot Act Compliance

    My organization recently received notification from a corporate funder that we need to annually submit forms certifying that our organization does not support terrorism. When I asked for clarification of the matter I was informed that, according to the Patriot Act, all funders will require non-profits to annually submit this type of paperwork. Considering the large number of corporate funds we receive every year, I am a bit concerned about the amount of staff time that would be involved.     I remember receiving a simmilar request but it asked if we employed and terrorists, I passed it onto my HR staff. I believe that the Patriot Act actually published a list of people and groups that you need to compare to your current activities (staff and groups you send support to). Hope this helps.
