Hello all: Our development team is interested in obtaining software that will enable us to track the progress of our grant applications (both government and private grants), with the ability to make notations, assign responsibilities, and produce email reminders of tasks that need accomplishing. I'm not that familiar with Raiser's Edge or whether RE has that capability now. We do use Raiser's Edge to track donors and events, but not for all of our grant applications. Hi Frank, I realize that this is a long time after your original post and you may already have a solution to your problem, but I just came across a Grant Manager plug-in on BB's site. If you're interested go to the BB website, hover over the PARTNERS item. This will bring up a list of options. Click on Blackbaud Developer Partners. On the page that comes up now, click on the dropdown box that says Application. Select Grant Management. I have no idea what it's like, but you never know ...

We use the RE:Search module. This provides a tab on the Constituent record which has places to track a variety of things, including "Proposals". We use this to track "grant" requests (or asks) to Foundations, Corporations and Individual donors. Each proposal can be tied to a campaign and/or fund, have actions and notes associated with it, have one or more solicitors assigned to it, etc. There are fields for dates and amounts asked, expected and received. Also, there are rating and gift type fields. Once the grant or gift is secured, you can link the gift(s) to the proposal to show that is was completed and then mark it as inactive...
