Faculty Access Intranet or Internet?

I'm wondering if most of the FAFTW users implement the program in an Intranet context to facilitate management (no need to install client software on each machine) or through the Internet and if so, how you set it up to work through the firewall (if you have one)? We are considering the product and looking for some input. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to provide us with some. David

We use it both internally and externally. There was no need to install any "client software". The computers did have to have I.E. 5.5 at the very least inorder for the page to work well. As far as our firewall. I would imagine that every situation is different, but we had a line added to our firewall to allow access to the program. I'm not a firewall expert, we had a contractor do it, but it works well. The same process allows parents to use the Netclassroom, which is Faculty Access' counterpart.

I would like to discuss firewall solutions regarding putting FAWEB and Netclassroom out on the internet. --- Edited at 3/23/2006 1:16:55 PM by Ivan Bailey
