Hi -
I have been reading some of the posts on this site and I was wondering if anyone who has done the integration has run into this issue.
We integrated last summer and made nonconstituent parents and students constituents. This has worked fine except in one area. We track contact information such as cell phone and email and as "unshared" items in both RE and EE. When we update one of these items on a parent contituent record in RE that information will not propagate to the relationship record belonging to that individual if he/she appears as a relationship on another constituent record. I found out that that I need to make cell phone and email "shared" in RE in order for a constituent record to update a relationship record for that person.
That poses a problem, because if I make an individual contact number shared in RE I have to make it shared in EE in order for the Integration tool to work without errors. And if I make "cell phone" and "email" shared in EE then EVERYONE attached to that address in EE will have the same email and cell phone and we know that family members have more than one cell phone and email address
What is the best way to deal with this?
I would suggest making the parents constituents and using more than one cell phone or email type. We use E-mail as the primary, then Secondary E-mail.
