    In Memory/Celebration

Does anyone have any suggesting wording for an In Memory or In Celebration card to be sent to the family of the receipient? Rhonda

Rhonda, I use the Hon/Mem module to create a letter with a list of donors and their addresses if the hon/mem person was well known and we have received a lot of donations. If I just need to send a single notification to the family/honoree I have a preprinted card that says "The NGCSU Foundation acknowledges receipt of a gift" then there are lines where I hand write in "in memory of" or "in honor of" then the person's name on the next line, then the word "by" is printed and then there are three lines where I write in the donor's name and address. It is about 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 (4 to a page). Hope this helps. Karen [Email Removed]

We have special letterhead printed for Tributes with our mission statement and logo. That's all that is preprinted. We then set this up as a merge document with a short paragraph, which we center to make pretty, saying a gift was made to the foundation (naming special fund if needed) In Honor/Memory of and then at the bottom of the page we put "By" and the donors name and address. The fields are exported from the Mail Module and the Hon/Mem is entered with the gift. Thus it becomes a simple merge just like the thank you letters. Envelopes are obtained this way also. E-mail me directly if you have any questions. Foundation Assistant [Email Removed]

We have a "Tribute Giving Program" where we have a heavy card printed with a paragraph on tribute giving. We use 8 1/2 printer paper that is divided 3 ways for tear offs. We print a message for each tribute on each tear off (allowing us to do 3 at a time) with the following message (centered): A Tribute Gift has been made in honor/memory (this is added in word with a merge if/then) the tribute namess (deceased person) by the donor name and addresses We stuff this single sheet inside the hard card and mail to the family. We do the same for the receipt to donor. It's very nice looking and it does two things for us. It gives info on our Tribute program and acknowledges the donor to family. we merge and print all information including envelopes. It's very simple once set up. I'de be happy to talk with anyone about it if they are interested.

Debra - I'd be very interested in seeing a PDF of your card, if possible, and knowing how you set this up in Raiser's Edge. Thanks! Trish Morgan Gifts Manager Pathways Hospice Foundation [Email Removed]
