Idea [I] Posting to GL ALL at Once

I was wondering if there was any way to post ALL gifts that have either been added or adjusted or changed in any way at once or if you have to create a Post Query for all the gifts and then post the reversals and adjustments separately?

Hi Doug- You do not have to create a query as RE should not double post any transactions. But unfortunately you do have to run the process twice for the adjustments, some what of a pain- but it is my understanding that it is because many auditors want the reversals in separate batches than the gifts.

It will take a while.  I suggest that you let the process run over night and break it down by year- I had to do this, but we have many many gifts in the database and one year would take about 6 hours and slow the other users down.

    Good Luck!

In going back and looking at Doug's post from last month, I don't see it... but why would someone be posting gifts for 'years' or for that matter the whole year?   Wouldn't standard procedure be to post much more often than that?

Also, just a caution, be sure you know when you're software/server is running a back up.  We back up overnight and so would not set a posting to run overnight. :-)
