    Gift Cards during the holidays

    Hello,

We receive thousands of dollars in gift cards each year during the holidays. I am wondering how other people credit donors and what gift type(S), payment type(S) and such that they use.

    Thanks,

    Aldervan

I believe a Gift Card would be designated a non-cash gift by the IRS, therefore I would enter it as a Gift In Kind and payment type of Other.
