    Reviewing, Editing and Posting Grades

Is there a way to make one person responsible for reviewing, editing and posting grades?

My issue is that I have an administrator that gets and email from teachers that says grades are ready for review. At that point the Administrator goes in and reviews the grades, skills and comments. She would like to edit their comments if they have any, and then change the status to Ready. At that point she would like to post the grades herself.

I have changed her settings numerous times but can not seem to get her to be able to do all three things herself.

    Hi Lee,

Great question!!  There is a way to do this, albeit from two different places.  Have you granted this user access to a standard security group with Registrar Office Administration permissions?  If you gave them access to Update FA Web Statuses and Post From FA Web, they could finish what you are asking them to do from within RO.  As always, please feel free to create a case on casecentral.blackbaud.com and we'd be happy to assist.  Have a wonderful holiday weekend Lee.  Big Smile

    Regards,

If your user has rights to edit the comments and set them to approved, the same user can then use the Update FAWeb Statuses utility in Education Edge to change the class status from Not Ready to Ready. The update status utility is in Registrar's Office, Administration.

The caveat with the utility is that all comments for the class must be marked as approved before you can change the class from not ready to ready. Additionally, the utility can only change classes to ready that are found in a query.  You could create a query of all classes taught by a particular teacher and change these all to ready.

Once the administrator sets the classes to ready, she can run the post utility to post the grades successfully from FAWeb to Education Edge.
