    Stand for Children’s mission is to use the power of grassroots action to help all children get the excellent public education and strong support they need to thrive. To date, Stand for Children’s six state affiliates (OR, MA, TN, WA, CO, and AZ) have won more than one hundred victories that have impacted the lives of more than two million children. We organize parents, educators, and other concerned community members into a strong, sustained constituency that:
    • Advocates for education reforms at the state and local level that improve student achievement, including increasing teacher and principal effectiveness, school autonomy, and instructional time
    • Lobbies the state legislature for strategic K-12 investments and then ensures local school districts spend those dollars wisely
    • Campaigns for school construction bonds, operating levies, and other local children’s needs
     The PositionStand for Children – a bold and independent voice for public education reform – seeks an experienced Raiser’s Edge professional to oversee the daily operation of our database, which tracks membership, contribution, donor, contact, and prospect information. The Database Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Stand’s database, including data input and output, and end-user training and support. Specific responsibilities include:
    • Provide technical support of computer applications such as Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity to ensure availability, as well as efficient and effective use.
    • Manage and maintain constituent database (Raiser's Edge) to ensure timely upgrades, security, and maintenance in accordance with IT policies.
    • Develop and maintain web-based services interfaces for serving members
    • Maintain technical documentation on Stand’s systems
    • Conduct technical training on systems, coordinate training on other applications with the National Training and Recruitment Director
    • Identify, document, and implement enhanced business processes that improve Stand’s efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Develop reports and management dashboards using standard reporting tools such as SQL Reporting Services.

    • Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience
    • 3 – 5 years of Raiser’s Edge management experience a must
    • Working knowledge of NetCommunity preferable
    • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and Windows server environments.
    • Familiarity with SQL Reporting Services desirable
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
    • Excellent customer service orientation.
    • This position requires comfort and effectiveness translating between end users needs and database output. The Database Manager must be able to understand staff’s needs in order to accurately translate their requests into effective queries and reports. Skill in making presentations and training individuals in software applications is highly desirable.
