I am having several problems with using the 'mail/honour memorial acknowledgement' function in RE since we upgraded to Vista Business and Office 2007.  My mem. acknowledgements were working fine before, however, now my merge fields are empty, or pulling the wrong information.  In the addressee lines, I'm now getting nothing at all, and in the salutation line I'm getting "John Doe" instead of "Mr. Doe" or "John". I am no longer getting the name of the donor in my acknowledgement letter, but I do get the proper description ie) 'in memory of your mother, Jane Doe'.  I'd understand if I was getting no data at all but I am confused by the fact that I'm getting some information, and that the information I am getting is correct in some fields and incorrect in others. 

I went to the RE knowledgebase and one of the instructions for addressing this problem was to delete the original merge fields and add new ones from the 'add-in/insert RE fields" menu.  I did that and it made no difference at all. 

I also ran the merge as an export just to see if the fields were being populated and they all were, but the acknowledgee address and salutation were wrong (they were right when we were using Word 2003).  Now I'm getting 'John Doe' for both the acknowledgee addressee and acknowledgee salutation.  All of the other fields in the export are correct except the Donor Addressee, the donor addressee should say "Mr. & Mrs. Mike and Mary Smith" but it says 'Mike Smith', 

I did notice, a couple of weeks ago, that some of my receipt fields weren't working properly but I just manually corrected the data and didn't give it a second thought,  however, now it seems those missing fields were indicative of a bigger problem.  

In the fields ot include you have to check off the appropriate salutation that you wan tot display:

Customize option for acknowledge sautation can shoose either of the following :  Individual, From configuration or Individual Name. If you want to display Mr & Mrs John Doe go to confiquration and select the approp[riate slautation that you want displayed.

As regards to the other fields, I had the same problem as you did even though I replaced the fields but what I did not do was replace the entire field i.e. remove << xxxxxx>> the brackets that surroundind the field and replace with new one and it worked for me. I am using Microsoft 2007. Hope this works for you.
