AHP Benchmarking (Association for Healthcare Philanthropy)

I would like to touch base with anyone that has had experience with Raiser's Edge and this benchmarking process. My email is renee.walker@mjh.org

    Hi Laurel,

Would you still be willing to share that info? I would be very interested in hearing about your successes.

Laurel:  If you don't mind, I also would be very interested in the information as we are looking at the AHP benchmarking product this month.  Thank you.

I usually use queries, demographical & statistical reports and financial reports based upon what they are asking. I don't have the information on what the actual questions are this year. This would also vary based on the CFA and constituency structure you use at your organization and if it is easy to get the information they are asking for. Happy to help you if you ave some specific questions on how I reached a certain statistic and how you might be able to translate that to your system.

    Hi Laurel,

I am having trouble pulling out multi year pledges in RE. Can you share how you do this? Thanks

Depending on the exact question, I do a query of Gift Type = Pledge and Installment Date greater than 12/31/10 (or your fiscal year end)

Then I put this query in either the pledge status report, cash flow report, etc. using date ranges of years or whatever data you are looking for. Does this help?

Re: AHP Benchmarking (Association for Healthcare Philanthropy)

    Hi Laurel,

Thank you for your suggestion, being more specific I am running into a challenge in two areas:

    1. Reporting % of multi years pledges collected historically.

    2. In section F (gifts received/expected) per giving segment ( Annual, Major, Corp...) reporting on Multi year pledges. I looked at your suggestion, set up a query and ran through reports suggested and at a quick glance it seems I will still have to export and do manual digging. It is pulling in single year pledges. Am I on the right track?

    Thanks

Re: AHP Benchmarking (Association for Healthcare Philanthropy)

I am not doing this particular survey, but from the information you gave this is how I would handle it. I am not sure I have enough information to do a credible job.

1 ) Depending on how long your datatbase goed back you can make a multi year pledge query for each year.

Example:  Gift Date Between 1/1/2008 & 12/31/2008 and Gift Type = Pledge and Last Installment Due date greater than 12/31/2008 This would be 2008 multi-yr pledges - Make a query for each year.  Put this query in the Pledge Status report, Use the Pledged/Written off and paid columns for your calculations per year and then average all the years.

    2) Use your multi-year queries and the Cash Flow reports (filtering on whatever category you are trying to report on - Annual Fund?)
