    DETROIT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA JOB DESCRIPTION Classification:                       Manager, Annual Fund and Database AdministrationDepartment:                          DevelopmentLast Revision Date:              September 10, 2009FLSA Status:                         Exempt General Description: The Manager of Annual Fund and Database Administration is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Annual Fund program, including but not limited to Telefund and Direct Mail programs.  This position is also responsible for scheduled and ad hoc reporting and database needs for Raiser’s Edge. This position will coordinate with other departments to ensure all DSO databases work together to achieve organizational goals. Specific Responsibilities:
    • Works with the Director of Development Systems to create and implement plans for the DSO’s Direct Mail and Telefund programs.
    • Responsible for achieving annual fundraising goals and objectives.
    • Serves as the primary liaison with Telefund and Direct Mail vendors and manages day-to-day operations of the programs.
    • Works with the Director of Development Systems to create and produce scheduled and ad hoc reports from Raiser’s Edge.
    • Works with department leadership to develop and produce departmental metrics and analytics as needed through Raiser’s Edge.
    • Assists in oversight of daily gift processing and data entry processes.
    • Assists in the oversight of acknowledgement, pledge reminder and receipt procedures and ensures timely and appropriate recognition of gifts.
    • Assists in policy, procedure and process auditing and documentation. Participates in the development of sound data management practices pertaining to Raiser’s Edge.
    • Assists in training staff on usage of Raiser’s Edge.
    • Assists in the initial and continued integration of all Blackbaud databases (Raiser’s Edge, Patron Edge and Financial Edge).
    • Serves as backup staff for gift processing, data entry, Patron Edge and Financial Edge
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
     Position Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Previous direct fundraising experience and a solid knowledge base of fundraising theory and practice required; Three or more years of advanced Raiser’s Edge experience required; Extensive knowledge of report and query creation, interpretation and implementation required; Patron Edge and Financial Edge experience preferred; Process auditing, modifying and documenting experience preferred; Exemplary communication and organizational skills; A management style that promotes teamwork, enhances creativity and motivation, facilitates communication and builds consensus; Ability to work and make decisions independently and within a team; Strong problem-solving skills; Must use discretion and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive donor information; Must be able to work well with people at all levels of DSO organization including volunteers, Board, staff and donors. Primary Reporting Responsibility:             Director of Development Systems
