Hello there,
Hope someone can help me on this. What date do you count on when you run gift report queries, is it Gift Date/ Date Added/ NL Post ?
Cheers!
Anbu,
This may vary from user to user depending on the info you want in the report and/or your procedures for gift entry.
Ours reports are run using 'gift date.' For us this 99.9% the same as GL post date. So if exec ask for $ for the month I would run it based on gift date. Our gift date is the date $ was deposited into appropriate account by finance office. For other orgs, gift date may be date money received in mail or something else.
I think you need to look at what you expect gift report to represent, how you enter gifts and then stay consistent report to report so you don't end up double reporting or missing gifts.
We use Gift Date, except for calendar yearend, when we also look at Receipt Date.
