United Nations Foundation (UNF)/Better World Fund (BWF) Database Manager Vacancy Announcement OVERVIEW The primary responsibility of the Database Manager is to assist the Director of Database Management in the administration of Raiser’s Edge (RE) database, as well as UNF data integration process. His/her duties will include but not limited to reporting, data maintenance, acknowledgement and matching gift processing, exporting and importing data, updating and documentation of business rules and procedures, as well as data clean-up. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE The Database Manager reports to the Director of Database Management and will be an integral part of the database team. The position is responsible for closely working with members of the UNF staff. RESPONSIBILITIES/DELIVERABLES • Reporting: The position will be responsible for creating, running and maintaining ad hoc, weekly and monthly reporting from RE, Convio and other databases. • Acknowledgements and Matching Gifts: Acknowledgement process is an integral part of donor recognition. The position will be responsible for all UNF acknowledgement process, as well as overseeing the acknowledgements created by UNF Vendors. The position will be also be responsible for processing the UNF Matching Gifts. • Data Sync with other systems: The position will be responsible for the review and correction of import/export files from UNF vendors and various UNF databases. • Database Maintenance: The position will be responsible for the data quality in the RE system. This will include but not limited to eliminating duplicate records, data and coding review and editing of records. • Donor Communication: The position will be responsible for communicating with donors and provide answers to their request relating to donations, mailings, etc. • Documentation: The position will be responsible for creating new documentation and maintaining existing documentation of UNF data related business rules and protocols.• Training: The position will assist the Director of Database Management in training the UNF staff on various UNF databases and UNF procedures as well as MS office applications. • Other: The position will perform related duties as assigned.SELECTION CRITERIA • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in data services. • Five plus years experience using a relational database management system (advanced level Raiser’s Edge knowledge preferred), working knowledge of Convio, knowledge of Financial Edge and other database management systems. Also requires demonstrated proficiency in use of Crystal Reports and knowledge of SQL. • Advanced computer skills using MS Office. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and/or projects simultaneously. Actual salary will depend on qualifications and anticipated contribution to the Foundation. UNF pays 100% of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance premiums for its employees and 75% of medical and vision for employees' dependents. In addition, UNF provides 20 days of paid vacation per year, 12 paid holidays, three personal days per year, an immediately vested 150% matching 403(b) contribution up to a limit of six-percent of employee pay, Metro Pass benefits, and flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care.
