We are currently running Kintera Fundware 7.40 on a Windows Server 2003 terminal server. My users want to be able to save their reports as PDF files. I have been going around in circles with Adobe Acrobat and Terminal Services and Fundware for the last month. As far as I can tell, there is a glitch with the Crystal Reports runtime that Fundware is using to generate reports. It does not like Adobe Acrobat, or Adobe Acrobat does not like it. Whatever the case, they aren't getting along and I'm to the point of saying that it simply isn't possible to produce PDF files from Fundware 7.40 in a terminal services environment.
Has anyone successfully setup PDF printing from Fundware 7.40 on terminal services? If so, how?
I'm experiencing the very same problem. If anyone has had any success with this, I would love to know how to do this.
Hello!
FundWare does not officially support printing to PDF files from Print Manager. You can, however, install the full version of Adobe Professional on the server that will create the Adobe PDF "printer" that you see in Start > Printers. Once you have that "printer" installed, you can print to it by clicking the drop-down in Print Manager and changing your printer from "Template Defined Printer" to the Adobe PDF printer.
The Adobe PDF printer would need to be added to each user's profile when logged in as the user and not as the local admin on the server.

One solution you may want to look at is an excellent PDF print driver product for Terminal Services and Windows server environments. It is "pdfFactory Pro Server Edition".
The server requirements (per their website) are:
· Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 · Microsoft Networking with printer sharing · Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame are fully supported in both desktop and single application sessions
· Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008
· Microsoft Networking with printer sharing
· Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame are fully supported in both desktop and single application sessions
It's easy to install, requires virtually no upkeep, and provides high-quality PDF output.
We use the CutePDF Writer without issue with FundWare 7.50. It is a free download works great! You will need to install it directly unto the server, as I don't think it works as a "shared printer" through terminal services. The only issue you may have is that the areas of FundWare that use Crystal Reports for printing (i.e. Accounts Receivable) will NOT allow you to select a printer. You will need to make the PDF "printer" your default printer in a terminal services session in order to use it in these areas of the program. Let me know if you have any further questions or need assistance with this.
Hi David,
Here is the solution we are using for printing Fundware reports to pdf.
We have installed solid pdf creator (free version) on our test Fundware server which is a terminal server.
Whenever AR report needs to be sent to pdf, we set the Solid pdf creator as default printer.
This works great for all users logged in remotely.
Give me a call if you or any one needs help with this
