Hello,We have recently been putting the transitional relief payments onto Raisers Edge but this seems to be causing a few problems. When we are creating queries for mailings having the transitional relief donation as the last gift is messing up the segments. Is anyone else putting these donations onto RE and if so how are you inputting this information to avoid messing up your mailing selections.Any feedback would be appreciated. Many ThanksRyan
I wasn't intending to put transitional relief payments on Raiser's Edge. We have informed our donors that Gift Aid is at the rate of 25p per £1, as it is calculated by Raiser's Edge, and we have acknowledged their gross gift at that level without complicating things by mentioning the transitional arrangement. So that is the total of the gift that will appear on a donor's record. My feeling is that the transitional relief is a bonus payment from HMRC (ie.it's between the University and the HMRC) and we won't attempt to link it back to individual donations.
What is Blackbaud's advice on this?
Nicki
I spoke to Blackbaud about this a little while ago and they are advising people to set up a record for HMRC and put the 'gift' on that record which will at least allow your gift reporting to come at the right amount. As the TR has nothing to do with the donor they advised against putting it on their records.
