We are running an Annual campaign for a school district and assign solicitors to track performance by schools. Solicitors are the individual schools. Presently when a student graduates from any one of the 5 elementary schools and moves onto to the middle school, we are deleting the elementary school as the solicitor and adding the middle school as the new solicitor. Currently we are not using the "date from" and "date to" fields in the solicitor's tab.
Question...Should we be adding an end date to the elementary school and date from to the middle school solicitor's tab rather then deleting it? How will this effect the performance report - specifically the "donor" and "out of" numbers. Obviously if we delete the elementary solicitor, it will not be added in the "out of" number but would this be the case if we just added an end date?
Just trying to understand how to best use solicitors and how the solicitor performance report works.
Thank you for any advice in advance.

Drawbacks I see if deleting them are you lose solicitor history and possibly ability to do comparison reports for earlier time periods as you've deleted solicitor record.
Unless all your years of assignments are for the same fund it should not affect the donor report. I beleive the 'out of' number is based on your the results from your filter criteria or fund goal, so RE is looking only at assignments for the relevant fund.
I do put start and end date on solicitor assignments. I found it a lot easier to do it by global change/add than typing in each solicitor record. If your solicitors are assigned by school it should be very easy to query that and add it.
