    Blackbaud Raiser's Edge Specialist Needed

     

    Mitchell College, located in New London, CT seeks an experienced Raiser's Edge Specialist to serve as its database administrator to oversee and manage its fundraising and donor database (Raiser’s Edge) and related systems. This position is responsible for the prospect research and data entry functions and supports all aspects of the organization’s advancement program.

    Work includes maintaining information according to existing processes, as well as continuous improvement of systems by developing and implementing new policies and procedures. The position is also responsible for oversight of constituent information.The Raiser's Edge Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of donor data and the donor database for fund raising, developing effective reporting strategies in support of advancement goals, leading database cleanup and analysis projects, communicating about database issues effectively within the organization, and providing staff training on processes and best practices. Skills and Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience in database management, preferably in a nonprofit organization required; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Researcher’s Edge, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, with careful attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, within the college and with donors.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with peers, senior staff, volunteers, and the general public.
    • Ability to participate in cross-departmental projects.
    • Ability to effectively identify, analyze, and solve problems.
    • Ability to work in a changing environment and as a part of a team, taking on independent tasks and supporting team projects.
    • The Raiser’s Edge Database Specialist will provide Raiser’s Edge database support to the College's Advancement staff.
       

    Essential Functions:

    Maintain the integrity of the Raiser’s Edge database by updating constituent records, running quality control reports, performing bulk updates, etc.

    Provide reports to various Advancement departments requesting information from the database using the Raiser’s Edge Query, Researcher's Edge, Export and Report functions.

    Provide database technical support; train and assist staff with Raiser’s Edge database use, policies and procedures.

    Conduct research of constituents and foundations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 2 years experience using and maintaining the Raiser’s Edge Enterprise database in a non-profit environment for fundraising and/or membership
    • Proficient in data organization and manipulation, with close attention to detail
    • Strong report writing skills
    • Ability to train non-technical staff on data entry, reading and understanding record information, creating basic reports, queries, exports and mailings
    • Strong computer skills including experience with Access, Excel and Word
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
    • Extremely customer focused
    • Excellent communications skills
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as part of a team
    • Comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced and deadline based environment

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Associate or Bachelor degree.
    • Familiarity with Blackbaud Researcher's Edge a plus
