Production - When to hire extra Data Entry Clerks

What are the number of donations recieved can a additional data entry clerk be justified?  Organization is getting ready to begin a large campaign I need to plan and justify the need for more data entry clerks for the increase in donations being recieved.  What numbers can I begin to look for to create this type of plan?

Hi, I think it depends on how clean and structured your database is. Also, it depends on certain business rules that your organization may have placed already for a gift entry procedures. Based on my experience, gift entry procedure is not just a process for creating gifts. It is also a process for validating all necessary gift and batch reports for Fundraising and Finance departments, posting gifts to general ledger, making necessary copies of processed checks, creating various acknowledgment letters and filing or scanning. Taking all of these steps into account, for 100 gifts a day, you need one data entry clerk.
