We are trying to figure out whether we should go with using solicitors or the Events Module to record giving related information from our major events. We have a ton of people that "bring in" gifts from others each year (probably 2,000 new individuals each year). They do seem to technically be solicitors in that they are asking others for money, however it is usually a one-time thing and it looks like most of the RE solicitor functionability is for people that regulary ask others for gifts. These will also be increasing in the thousands each year, and it will become harder and harder to report on if I want to pick from the active solicitor lists. I can see how I can work around this with queries, adding a "date to" for assigned solicitors (although I was also thinking of just adding them to the gifts and not assigning them at all).

Is there a better way to do this in the Events module? If so, I would really like to recommend it as it seems we are pushing the purpose of the solicitor relationship. Also any other info about how your organization uses solicitor relationships would be helpful.
