Is your database available to staff for telecommuting?

Has someone written a policy about staff working at home and having access to the database?  We are growing and need to develop a policy.

Yes - many employees are remotely working. Upon employment, employees are verbally understood to have a secure network, with restricted hours to access the database, but no written policy, that is a great idea.

Ditto, employees have access from home, one primarily works from home, but we don't have a written policy.  Would be a good idea.

Many, many people telecommute at our org. I do not have a policy, per se...but this is the language our IT dept has added to the remote login page:

NOTICE: Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center's (Children's) information system network contains confidential, proprietary, and/or privileged information protected by law, and access is restricted solely to authorized users for legitimate business purposes only. If you have not been expressly authorized by Children's to access and use this information system network, you are hereby directed to exit immediately. Actual or attempted unauthorized access, use, or modification of this information system network is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action (up to and including termination of employment or contract), criminal prosecution, and/or the imposition of civil penalties under local, state, and federal law. Use of this information system network is monitored and recorded for administrative and security reasons. By accessing this information system network, you expressly consent to such monitoring. You are hereby advised that if monitoring reveals possible criminal activity, Children's reserves the right to provide information relating to such activity to law enforcement officials, as provided by law. All users must comply with Children's policies and procedures regarding access to and use of the information system network and any and all information contained therein. By clicking Logon below you are indicating that you agree with these terms.

I'm sure there's an official policy somewhere!
