About this position: This is a part-time, temporary, contracted and non-benefited position, reporting to the Development Director.

Free Speech TV is a progressive non-profit television network available in over 25 million homes nationwide. The network broadcasts news programs like Democracy Now!, independently produced documentaries, and serial programs promoting social, economic, environmental and racial justice. Working with activists and artists, Free Speech TV uses electronic media to cultivate an informed and active populace to advance progressive social change. The network is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.

Job Description:
The Contract/Part-Time/Temporary Development Assistant provides general administrative support needed to carry out annual fundraising and outreach plans.

Responsibilities:

• Update and maintain donor and prospect Raiser's Edge database, including entering data, processing donations, mail, receipts and generating acknowledgments and Raiser's Edge/NetSolutions financial reports.
• Assist with planning and implementation of special events including auctions, house parties, community screenings, and national conferences/festivals
• General office duties and projects as directed by the Development Director

Job Qualifications

• Prior non-profit development and fundraising experience required.
• High proficiency in Raiser's Edge software required.
• Meeting and event planning experience preferred
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collegially with other staff and partners to achieve common objectives
• A passion for independent media and social justice, as well as a familiarity with current social, political, cultural, and environmental issues is desirable
