    Marketing Analyst

    Position status: Full time, permanent position.  This position is included in a bargaining unit and is covered by a collective agreement.

    Save the Children Canada fights for children's rights.  We deliver lasting improvements to children's lives worldwide.  Save the Children Canada is a Member of the International Save the Children Alliance.  Save the Children is the world's largest independent organization for children, with 28 national members and programs in over 120 countries.  Save the Children Canada has been active since 1921 and has four areas of program focus: education, HIV/AIDS, child protection and emergency relief.

    Summary of the position


    The Marketing Analyst is responsible for providing the Philanthropy team with reports, analysis and insights to improve marketing and fundraising results and support the organization’s growth strategies.   Accountabilities 
    • Work with the Senior Manager, Direct Marketing and other partners in the Philanthropy team to clarify data needs and objectives
    • Track, analyze and report on fundraising campaigns, donor acquisition, retention and upgrade programs
    • Translate data into useful business intelligence by identifying trends, insights and providing meaningful recommendations to improve initiatives
    • Analyze donor behavior, and work with the Philanthropy team to develop and implement donor segmentation strategies and identify opportunities to improve donor communication, upgrades, retention and lifetime value
    • Extract data for direct marketing and fundraising campaigns, including donor segmentation and targeting recommendations and ensure data sent to and received from external partners in the proper format
    • Provide targeting recommendations for external prospecting lists
     Competencies  
    • University/College degree in business, marketing, finance or related field
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in an analyst role working with relational databases including donor/customer management and segmentation, direct marketing campaign targeting, data extraction and analysis
    • Excellent computer and data manipulation skills and experience with database tools and software - knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge is an asset
    • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills and demonstrated experience translating data into useful business intelligence and presenting conclusions written and orally
    • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic thinking and planning and provide  recommendations to improve processes and results
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to interact effectively with key contacts and present information in a clear and concise manner
    • Enthusiastic, flexible team player, able to work within and provide support to cross-functional team to achieve shared goals
    • Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently
     Other Requirements: 
    • Commitment to Save the Children’s mission and vision
    • French language skills (oral and written) considered an asset
    • Valid Passport and able to travel within Canada (and overseas if necessary) - occasionally
    • Subject to police reference check (child protection)
