    Email Preferences Issue

I am currently enabling the User Email Preferences part and ideally want users to be able to both subscribe to Newsletters, Opt Out and provide us with details of the kinds of communication they want (e.g. I would like to receive communication regarding events/career opportunities/competitions, etc.

Looking at the Email Preferences part it seems as though users can only subscribe to newsletters and opt out.  I am thinking that the only way to ask users to allocate what they would like to receive info about would be by adding a User Interests part to the page as well and then create email lists based on the attributes it creates.

I'd love any feedback on how other users have tackled this problem.

    Cheers,

    Re: Email Preferences Issue

This has been discussed at length on the independent forum for Blackbaud products - blackbus.org http://www.blackbus.org/forum/netcommunity-bbnc/4918-streamlining-email-subscription-process.html In short, there's no easy way for non-logged-in users. I have experimented with an attribute on the address, which users can update via a profile update. That only works for logged in users. If you'd like things to change then why not vote for my suggestion on the official way of getting features added to NetCommunity: http://blackbaudnetcommunity.uservoice.com/pages/905-general/suggestions/193887-non-logged-in-users-2-un-subscribe-to-from-querymailings-
