Constituency Code vs. Attributes for Donor Groups

We currently use constituency codes to note members of our 2 major donor groups.  We are trying to determine if that is the best place to keep this information.  We had it under Volunteer -> Job Assignments, but moved it out of there because it is not a Volunteer position.

The only other place we can think of is Attributes.

Any suggestions on a better place to keep this information.  We do query on these groups quite a bit.

Feel free to contact me offline at laurie.ursiny@sigep.net.

In my experience, Constituency code is what we use to determine the relationship between the donor and our organization in a meaningful way. (Board Member, Public donor, Corporation, Employee, etc.)

I use Constituent Attributes to track our giving level groups (memberships) and other memebership type groups. Attributes make sense for us to use because the date field allows us to query and provide membership type letters based on date range and the actual Membership under the attribute can be used as a recognition field based on soft credits, gratis inclusions, etc that may not have baisi in hard facts.
