Has anyone ever used Crysal Reports create event name tags? We would like to export specific relationship information (when multiple relationships exist) and would like to use the customization ability of Crystal to do this. I believe it is possible and have started my report but am running into some issues. Anyone? Lisa Jeffries, Trident Technical College Foundation
I have found it much easier to do name tags outside of RE. I use export to export the fields I need (relationships or participants if you have the event module) into an excel file that I then use as the data to merge into a Word template I use for Nametags. Word has such good functionality with all the standard label , Nametag & file folder versions that it makes sense to use it for me.
The Nametag functionality in Mail doesn't allow the same functionality in merging logos, differnt font sizes and placement as making a template in Word.
You can make it even easier and use export but rather than creating a basic export and creating a new merge each time you can use Export but set your export type to Blackbaud simple merge. You can set up the Word Merge document right inside of RE and click on Merge and voila. No export file to mess with at all.
Thank you for your responses. Unfortunately, those options will not work because, as I said, I am picking and choosing specific relationships to print on the nametags. For example, for the scholarship luncheon, we have invited people who have multiple relationships with the college (empolyee, board member, scholarship donor, etc.) but for the purpose of this specific event, we want to print that they are a part of the scholarship committee or that they are a board member. This may change from participant to participant and only the formulas in crystal reports can help us pick and choose. I just wasn't sure if it is possible to set up a crystal report and format it for nametags (having a little trouble with spacing and size).
