The national offices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is seeking a driven, self-motivated Web Programmer with a strong desire to succeed. This position is responsible for working with a team to assist in the design, building and testing of a web application. Working from a technical requirements document and in conjunction with the application analyst and business analyst, you will help develop project time estimates and address technical details for requirements documentation. Based on these specifications you will build, configure and test applications, revise existing programs and perform level 3 support for these applications. You will also document code, configuration files, data, and turn over documentation with the application analyst for developed applications. The types of applications developed will include, but not limited to, BBEC and our company website which uses a content management system (CMS). Successful candidates will have knowledge of object oriented design, .NET 2.0 or >, VB.NET and C#, SQL 2005 or greater, web services, Sharepoint or CRM. Qualifications: • B.A. in appropriate discipline or equivalent experience. • Minimum of three years of experience in applications development and programming. • Knowledge of VB.NET, C#.NET, ASP.NET, XML, and javascript. • Experience developing relational databases. • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task. • Strong mathematical and logical skills with extreme accuracy to detail. • Team player with ability to work independently and efficiently. • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive programming plans. • Ability to prioritize tasks, meets deadlines, and work well under pressure. • Knowledge in word processing, database and MS Excel software a plus • Strong backgrounds in accounting or finance and knowledge a plus. • Must be able to handle confidential data in a professional manner.
