    Financial Edge and ADP

We recently converted to Financial Edge and are having trouble with our ADP software. We were told that since they are both running on an SQL base they are conflicting. We were wondering if anyone else out there is using both Financial Edge and ADP software and if so are you having any problems with them.

We just converted to FE7 and also run ADP. Our IT department says FE7 and ADP do not play nicely together and need to be on separate servers.

I spoke with our MIS Director. His opinion was that your could run them on different servers or do what we did based on ADP's suggestion. We run FE on SQL Server and run ADP on the ADP supplied SQL Base.

We also run ours on a separate server. FE is tempermental enough by itself. For those who are already using ADP and FE, how easy is it for you to import the payroll entries into FE? We still do a considerable amount of prep work to the file before it is ready for import. We were promised before switching to ADP that it would be minimal manipulation before posting, but that is not the case.

When we first started importing from ADP to FE it seemed like it took forever. Now it is kind of routine and takes about 10-15 minutes. The only time it takes longer is when we have added a deduction or paycode and forget to tell ADP to add the corresponding GL account number.

YES, we are having the same problem at Delaware Guidance Services in Wilmington DE.

So far, no one has come up with a work around.  We just acquired FE 7 from Blackbaud and were told we could interface with ADP.  So far, I don't see that happening.

    Re: Financial Edge and ADP

Our firm is in the midst of potentially outsourcing payroll due to many limitation with FE Payroll and we were told that FE does work well with ADP.  My understanding is that there is some type of plug-in that allow for importing the ADP entries for payroll.

Can anyone confirm that this works properly?  Is there any major issues to could be avoided?

     Thanks,
