Hello Friends:

We receive a great deal of money from donors who designate their money to our organization through United Way.  We get the check in a lump sum, but I do not know how to enter it appropriately in Raiser's Edge.  I have the list of donors and their gifts, but there are new people and donors who have given previously, as well as anonymous donors.  We have to be able to enter these folks, so they are recognized appropriately.  I am not sure if I can set up an import, or if that's the most appropriate way to enter them.  We'd like to avoid soft credits, because that gets so complicated when we balance with finance.  Could anyone offer any insight as far as your experiences entering UW gifts?  What have you found to be the most practical and efficient way to enter the gifts?

Have you searched past postings?  This has already been discussed a ton both here and on the Blackbaud User Forum www.blackbus.org.  I would suggest searching then if you have any follow up questions post more specific detail questions you may have.
