    Family Foundation Center & Grants Assistant - Los Angeles

    The Family Foundation Center & Grants Assistant supports the activities of Program staff, coordinating donor support and grant-making objectives with other Foundation departments, grantees, donor and community constituents.

    Position Responsibilities
    • Coordinate the grant-making process, including preparing and tracking correspondence, proposals, grant documents, grant reports and payments.
    • Assist with research and proposal analysis during the grant application review process.
    • Support Program staff in monitoring progress of organizational and Family Foundation Center client grant programs, including creation and modification of Raiser’s Edge reports, correspondence with grantees, and coordination with Board and Senior Management on grant-related issues.
    • Perform grant and client research and special projects as assigned.
    • Synchronize grant files with Raiser’s Edge database, ensuring grant activities are logged in both paper and electronic versions. File and scan documents per department protocols, and actively participate in developing and communicating protocols as needed.
    • Create activity and statistical reports of grants and client data entered in Raiser’s Edge or spreadsheets.
    • Coordinate logistical and technology details with Program staff, Senior Management, and Board for committee meetings and special events, including refreshments, participant RSVPs, meeting materials, room arrangements and media requirements.
    • Respond to inquires into Foundation grant programs by describing relevant program details, instructions for application, or available community resources.
    • Communicate with grantees and Foundation accounting staff to ensure proper handling of distributions, audit and check replacement requests.
    • Collaborate with Program team to maintain internal process and procedure manuals.
    • Assist Foundation support staff with telephone coverage and administrative duties as needed.

    Qualifications
    • Proficiency in Microsoft XP, Office (particularly Excel, Outlook and Word), and the Internet.
    • Raiser’s Edge experience, including proficiency with queries and exports, required.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a time-sensitive environment.

    Minimum Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

    Minimum Experience
    • Three to five years support experience, preferably in grant making, nonprofit or related field.
