    Error when merging records

    Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this error when merging records:

An error occured during the merge process.  The merge could not be performed.  Package must be valid for the selected appeal.

I was merging records yesterday with no problems.  This morning, everytime I try to merge records that have an assigned appeal with a package, I receive this error.  I can merge the records if I exclude the appeals but then have to manually add the appeals back on the assigned record.  The problem:  most of these are old records and have many appeals that are inactive.  I have to reactivate the appeals in order to manually added them onto the individual record.  Very time consuming...

The appeal records are set up correctly; I even tried to re-save them to see if that would help.

     Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance, Jeannine

It sounds like you can't merge them because of the invalid appeal - in much the same way as you have to reactivate the appeal before saving it manually. Have you tried reactivating the appeals first and then merging?
