    Does anyone have any verbiage regarding fundraising activities conducted by other deprtments? Something along the lines of 'please clear all fundraising through the development department?' Thanks!

    Donation Acceptance Procedure:

     

    When accepting a donation to Bassett Hospital, Friends of Bassett or any special fund at Bassett Healthcare please obtain the following information:

     q      Amount of donation (not to be confused with amount of fee for staying in Hannah-Lee House or total amount of check/credit card – the donation amount is the amount for which they receive no goods and services)q      Donor name(s) & mailing address (so we can send them a thank you letter and receipt for tax purposes)q      Date of donationq      Check should be made payable directly to the special fund (i.e. Louis Busch Hager Cancer Center) or if check is made payable to Bassett Healthcare, Bassett Hospital, or Friends of Bassett please have donor put restriction on memo line.q      For internal use only: Here’s a list of the most commonly used special funds for donations – please write the correct account number on the cashier/donor receipt:ü     Center for Rural Surgery  Fund                10-105-31192ü     Hannah-Lee House Fund              10-105-31200ü     Delaware Co. Nursing Partnership Fund  10-105-31232ü     Dorothy Green Dialysis Fund                   10-105-31234ü     Social Work/Services Fund                     10-105-31235ü     Bob Simon/Loretta Anagnost Patient Assistance Fund (also a Cancer Center fund)                10-105-31249ü     Diabetes Education Fund                         10-015-31258ü     Reach Out and Read Fund                        10-105-31278ü     Louis Busch Hager Cancer Center Fund 10-105-31504ü     Special Surgical Research Fund              10-105-31507ü     General Cancer Research Fund                10-105-31524 q      Questions PLEASE call Laurel Quaintance (x3081) in Fund Development/Friends of Bassett office.q      It is our obligation as a fundraising office to track and thank all donors. More importantly it is our legal responsibility to acknowledge all charitable gifts for IRS tax purposes.q      There are many fund raising efforts underway in the Bassett service area such as the Heart Care Campaign, the Campaign for O’Connor Hospital (building and renovations), Sherburne, Herkimer, Richfield Springs, BHSC, and Oneonta. These donations should go through the Friends of Bassett office and not be deposited at cashier/clinic locations.  Please send them via interoffice mail to Fund Development.

    We also have envelopes & BRE's at all the registration desks and in departments that tend to get donations so that they can just throw them in the envelope and then interoffice mail them to us.
