    Web Presence - Online Marketing

We are getting a lot of questions from our food banks about leveraging the internet to drive mission.

I'll use this thread to post examples of our Feeding America & Nutrition Related customers doing great things online.

First example is a recent NetCommunity launch with a small nonprofit in Minnesota:  Feed My Starving Children.

There new site (www.fmsc.org) is very appealing visually and offers web visitors a very intuitive navigation with simple, yet prevelant calls to action (donate, volunteer, request food).

One of the features that is likely to generate big dollars for FMSC is the gift catalog approach.  One of our marquee customers, Heifer, pioneered the giving catalog concept and has been hugely successful. Check out the site and post your feedback here.

Did you know that the lifetime value of a donor acquired online is substantially larger than one acquired offline?  It's true...According to the Target Analytics Benchmarking Report on 9+Million donors, the online channel produces a very nutritious donor that non profits might want to pay more attention to...

The NY Times reported on the study at http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/18/us/18charity.html?_r=1.

Re: Web Presence - Online Marketing for Food Banks This is Cool!

Nice tweak to the concept of the fund raising thermometer:

Friends of the World Food Program

Raising big dollars through this 'friends asking friends' approach.
