Hi there,
Can anyone please tell me what should I do with this exception? I really have no clue what should I do.
Also Can anyone enlighten me how to add Amendment into the existing gift? Currently, I tried to import Gift Amendment but it doesn't work unless I have Amendment Import ID, which I don't have.
I'm thinking about generating a fake amendment in order to get Amendment Import ID, however the next question is how can I add this for heaps of records autometically?
Thanks in Advance!
Hi Emmy,
If you are importing an amendment to a recurring gift, you will need a column in your data file for the Amendment Import ID but it does not have to be populated. If you would like to do a test import into your Sample Database, you can type the following values into a csv file and run a Gift Amendment Import or I would be happy to email you this sample csv file that I created.
Because of formatting on this webpage, I will put the column header first then a colon and then the value and any additional notes in parentheses.
RGAImpID: Blank
ImportID: 00001-079-0000000567 (This is the constituent import id # for Kyle Bell. You may need to check that your leading zeroes were not cut off.)
RGADate: 05/14/2009
RGAAmt: 50 (This is going to change the recurring amount from $75 to $50 on Kyle's Recurring Gift)
RGAInsFreq: Quarterly (I did not change this value on the RG but a different value would amend RG)
RGAInsFreqOpt: Specific Day (I did not change this value on the RG but it sets installments as specific dates instead of dates like second Tuesday)
RGAInsNumDay: 1 (I did not change this value on the RG but a different value would set the installments to occur on a different date in the month)
RGALink: 00001-545-0000001217 (This is the import id of the original Recurring Gift - I place it in the last column of my file because it is a required field and will be filled for every row in my import file.)
I performed this as a new import and left all default settings.
If you are going to be doing this for a large number of gifts, I would recommend creating a gift query of the Recurring Gifts that need to be changed and using the Create Import File option in Import to export the values with the appropriate headers and then make changes to the values in your data file.
Thank you,
Naomi
