Does anyone know how to import a gift amendment? Is this even possible? I'm sure it must be possible because it exists in the import menu, but I've never been able to get it to work. I'm having trouble getting RE to recognise the Gift Import ID, and I'm not sure what the difference is between the import ID and the Gift Link. Can anyone help?
Hi Jenny,
I actually saw another post on this same topic today. I apologize if you have already reviewed that response but just in case you haven't seen it, I have included it below.
There was another post regarding importing gift amendments today and I apologize if you have already seen this information but in case you did not see that reply, I have included my response below.
If you are importing an amendment to a recurring gift, you will need a column in your data file for the Amendment Import ID but it does not have to be populated. If you would like to do a test import into your Sample Database, you can type the following values into a csv file and run a Gift Amendment Import or I would be happy to email you this sample csv file that I created.
Because of formatting on this webpage, I will put the column header first then a colon and then the value and any additional notes in parentheses.
RGAImpID: Blank
ImportID: 00001-079-0000000567 (This is the constituent import id # for Kyle Bell. You may need to check that your leading zeroes were not cut off.)
RGADate: 05/14/2009
RGAAmt: 50 (This is going to change the recurring amount from $75 to $50 on Kyle's Recurring Gift)
RGAInsFreq: Quarterly (I did not change this value on the RG but a different value would amend RG)
RGAInsFreqOpt: Specific Day (I did not change this value on the RG but it sets installments as specific dates instead of dates like second Tuesday)
RGAInsNumDay: 1 (I did not change this value on the RG but a different value would set the installments to occur on a different date in the month)
RGALink: 00001-545-0000001217 (This is the import id of the original Recurring Gift - I place it in the last column of my file because it is a required field and will be filled for every row in my import file.)
Hi Naomi,
Thanks very much for your detailed reply, it was a lot of help. We got it sorted in the end, the problem we were having was distinguishing between the gift import ID and the gift amendment import ID. I've been trying to do this for ages with no luck so its great to finally have it working! Now my next problem is exporting a specific amendment where a gift may have multiple, but this time I really don't think it can be done...
Thanks again for your help.
Jenny.
