    Report for qualitative information

My company is a fundraising firm. Our consultants each work on 2-3 individual campaigns. Management tracks these campaigns monthly and pulls quantitative information based on concrete information: dollars raised, prospects solicited, etc. However, it is also beneficial to have qualitative information, i.e. challenges, successes, strategy changes, etc, to provide some context around each campaign. We used to track this information on an excel document in a text box. When we go live with RE, I understand there will be opportunities to create dashboard reports that will give a real-time quantitative snapshot. My question is how do we capture qualitative information as well.

I would suggest that you maybe explore Moves Management and action track strategies. I think there has been discussion and maybe some white papers and examples here on Blackbaud's site and their forums. There are also some fields relevant to solicitors, etc. on a campaign where you can trak goals and responses. There are also Attribute fields on the Campaign that may provide what you need. Not knowing exactly what information you'll be trying to recreate and how other information relates to it I can't give a better answer. Your Blackbaud consultant that is helping you with your conversion may have some good ideas on how to do this as well. There are some great canned reports and dashboards that may be beneficial to you, and there is always the option of creating your own crystal reports or pivot tables should the canned features not do what you're looking for.

One other way to track what you may need would be to use the appeal field.

When you change strategy you could use a new appeal code on your solicitations for the Campaign  - this would allow you to track response rates, etc.

It is a very vague question as Laurel point out.  Text or qualitative info in RE can be tracked mainly in Action, Attributes and Notes (and you have notes and attributes throughout the software).  Solicitation strategies are best kept in Constituent notes.  They are generally extensive, are not tied to a specific date in time (such as action).  To keep it under control, create a note type of "Solicitation Strategy for Campaign X" (to be able to export only that note through RE:Export) and update the same note as you go on for a specific project or campaign. I used to print a report using two or three notes like that (Solicitation Strategy, Peer Review and Recognition)
