procedures for identifying email and/or cell phone numbers that do not always change with address changes

We are looking at establishing procedures for identifying good email and or cell phone numbers on a record that does not necessarily have a good mailing address.  Most likely we will be using Address Attributes and want to know how others are managing this along with the 'Has no valid address' check box.

In the near future, we may be adding around 40,000 new email addresses (from BB EmailFinder results) and we want to have a plan before we update our records. (Initially, the mailing address is "good" because that is how the email address is matched.)

    Thanks for any ideas.

Re: procedures for identifying email and/or cell phone numbers that do not always change with address changes

I’ve just introduced a “No Physical Mail” solicit code to people who have asked to stop receiving printed materials and would rather receive communication by email.

The idea is that “No Physical Mail” is then always applied as an exclusion criteria when mailing printed materials and applied as an inclusion criteria (ie basically ignored) when undertaking an email mailing.  So, even when the mailing address is no longer valid, we would not tick the “No Valid Address” box and still send them emails.

Having said that, we haven’t actually done any such mailings yet, so I may still come across a problem.  The only problem I can then foresee though is when an email bounces back and we have no other way of contacting that person if the mailing address is no longer valid.
