Hi,
I set up a query in Raiser's that includes the following result: constituent's name (first name and last name), email address, email address 2, spouse's name (first name and last name), and spouse's email.
Now, I am interested in exporting the information and removing my duplicate records. I can't seem to figure how it orders the email addresses in export. In my export, I selected preferred address and went under phone number. It randomly orders phone numbers, fax number, email address, and email address 2. I am not sure how I can select email address, email address 2, spouse's email, and get it sorted like it is in the query but only selects the records that are head of household.
Also, since I excluded on the criteria tab those records that had in the attributes tab mailing exclusion not one of do not send e-newsletter, Raiser's shouldn't include those people in my export once I have selected my query. Is that correct?
Any thoughts?
Anne
In export I find the best way to do this is export each one separately so they each have their own column. So export phoen number and select that you only want one and bring over only one type. Then bring over phone number again (which can be tricky you'll need to highlight the top thing in your output and not have the phone number you just brought over highlighted.) and select that you only want 1 again and bring over a different type.
For HOH processing in export you need to go to the first tab and decide if you want to export both or just one. If exporting spouse email then I would not choose to select both then you will get the same email addresses twice in your export.
Thank you, Melissa. Your advice helped me select email address and email address 2 separately on the output tab. How do I find the spouse's email address and email address 2 to pull that from export? I can't see where you can select those two. I decided to go with HOH in order to avoid duplicates.
In export you would go to:
