Granting access to RE - policy and procedure

Does anyone have a short but precise policy and procedure for granting access to RE?  Our IT dept. does not handle these requests, we do it in Advancement.  I need to document our policy and procedure for granting access to RE, review security of the database, and how access levels are determined.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

     Hi Sandi,

At our org, the development operations team has just updated the RE security settings because we have a large number of staff and need to ensure that we stagger their user acocunts. We basically have a few main groupings:

    1. New - gives someone view-only access to the database until they complete their RE training
    2. Staff - used for majority of our staff, who need limited access to RE; allows them to create/maintain/delete strategy pieces like actions, proposals, notes, etc, but they cannot edit/add/delete gifts or constituent records (we do that centrally)
    3. Internal Team - our team has a wider access, which includes the above, with delete rights to gifts and constituents, but no access to RE user accounts
    4. Tech - the tech team manages user accounts, so they just have access to the security function in the admin module

    Does that help?

    Sandy. :)
