Gift Date or GL Post Date

    Good Afternoon Everyone,

When running a query or report and you want to count money which gift date do you use gift date or gl post date?  Ours are sometimes different.

    Thanks,

Re: Gift Date or GL Post Date

Either could be appropriate depending on the need of the report.  (That's why RE has both)

Do you have a gift date policy?  I have a gift date policy to establish what date to use for GD and which to use for GLPost.  Once you have the definitions set up then you can decide which date is appropriate for which report.

Ours are defined as Gift date is the date it is counted in Financials and GLPost is the date it was received in the office.  Most of the time they are the same date but at end of year, end of fiscal year they may be different and also Credit Cards are often different.
