what's the purpose of having these 2 fields cover the same information?

which field would you definitely populate if you had to just choose one?

here's an attachment containing a screen shot of the page. we use version 7.81.

Someone renamed both the nickname and maiden name field on the bio 1 tab.  Since the change applies to all records, I wonder where nicknames and maiden names are stored?  You can create salutations based on the nickname on the record, so I would never use that field for something else. Like Melissa, I put job titles in the position field.

This may be something with the UK version because I am on 7.83 and attached is what my screenshot looks like.

Or as Leslie says, they were renamed by someone at your org.  (one wonders why...)

we've very recently upgraded to RE Enterprise v7.85

the screen shot shows a new individual relationship on an organisation constituent.

i think there's too many fields duplicating the same info e.g. Job Title, Position, Relationship/Reciprocal, Contact Type.

but will omitting certain fields impact on other functions e.g. querying/exporting mailing lists?
