Philadelphia BB User Group - anyone interested

Do we have people interested in a User Group? It would be great if we could begin to create a list of all of us in the Philly area. I'm happy to maintain a list to see if we can stir up interest for regular meetings or even online communication.

Hi, I would be interested.  I just started a new position that uses Raiser's Edge a little different than I did at my last job.

I've got six users at the Abramson Center (North Wales) who would be happy to join you and help support you in this effort!

Re: Philadelphia BB User Group - anyone interested

I'm finally getting back to this topic. I'd like to host a first meeting of a Philadelphia based user group. My office is in Ambler. I think I can fit in 12-15 people if we don't mind getting cozy. If we have more interest than that, I can get space at our local library. For the first meeting, I'd just like to get started with a meet and greet and maybe a couple of topics. I'm looking at a date of 9/3 and a time of 2-5pm. Once we get a list of who wants to attend, we can discuss other dates and time if necessary. I think the best thing is to just get started. We are all so busy all the time. :)

Re: Philadelphia BB User Group - anyone interested

Nora / User Group -  Great idea getting this started and off the ground!  I know it can be hard when there are not established user groups in the area, but they are so beneficial! I used to work for Blackbaud for several years, and having been at Blackbaud for many years, I heard my clients frequently struggle with needing certain tasks automated so they could do their job without spending an enormous amount of time on particular tasks.  I am now working for PalmettoTech, an organization that is a nonprofit efficiency expert, specializing in creating automated solutions for nonprofits to streamline their use in The Raiser’s Edge and The Financial Edge.  We provide a suite of solutions to automate the tedious, cumbersome, and external processes you perform regularly. All products seamlessly integrate with Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge.I'm letting you know this, because if some of the tasks that it takes awhile to do (importing, getting data from one location/source into RE/FE, student billing statements, electronic fund notifications, Positive Pay Check Fraud, Inventory, online stores, etc.) come up in your user group meetings, you will now know there are solutions out there to help, that Palmetto Tech offers. Additionally, if these are areas of challenge that come up in your meetings, I want to extend the offer for either myself or another manager here to speak with the group and discuss the ways in which you can automate these tasks.  Myself and my co-workers are well versed in RE and FE, and how to make your jobs for efficient and effective!I can truly empathize with you if you are having any of the same challenges some of my former clients had.   Best of luck getting your group off the ground!Pam 843-564-5387 PalmettoTech.com

Re: Philadelphia BB User Group - 2nd meeting in December

We had our first user group meeting and it was a great success. We had lots to share and I think we all learned something new. We are planning on our second meeting in December. I'll be setting up a registration page in the next couple of weeks. We welcome all new members. No obligation to come to every meeting. Our  hope is that we will develop a local network of users who will support and help each other to make the most of the Blackbaud applications our organizations have purchased. The exchange of ideas, the feeling that you have a resource available to help and the general comradeship are all benefits of being part of a local user group.

If you can't come to a meeting, you can sign up for the group  at https://www.alsphiladelphia.org/NetCommunity/Pbug You will be part of email group.

We also have a facebook page.  We'd love to have you visit us.
