    DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT - Bayou District Foundation: New Orleans, LA

    Ø     Job Summary

    The Director of Development will initially focus on the Capital Campaign for the Bayou District Foundation, working directly with the Bayou District Foundation staff and volunteers. This individual needs to possess a good working knowledge of the community and have a strong desire to assist the Bayou District Foundation in its community revitalization efforts. The Director of Development is a full time position and will report directly to the Chairman of the Board.   Ø     Duties / Responsibilities
    • Refine and implement the fund development plan
    • Install fundraising software and manage the data input
    • Oversee current capital campaign
    • Write grants
    • Plan and implement events
    • Identify potential donors
    • Interface with donors
    • Oversee prospect and donor relationships
    • Manage fund development communication program
    • Manage recognition program
    • Support board capital campaign committee:
      • Arrange meetings
      • Take notes
      • Oversee volunteer tasks
    Ø     Position Qualifications
    • Three to five years of senior-level fundraising management experience in a non-profit environment preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience is required
    • Demonstrated success in implementing fundraising campaigns that have met targeted goals
    • Demonstrate complete support and alignment with vision, mission and values of the Bayou District Foundation
    • Demonstrated skills developing and implementing strategy, managing people, planning, and budgeting
    • Ability to lead, motivate and train staff, board members and volunteers
    • Ability to work collaboratively, promote teamwork and foster open communication
    • Knowledge of planned giving strategies and financial options for donors
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and database management
    • Maintain a professional manner and a high degree of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality in all interactions with staff, volunteers, board members and donors
